Why do I paint?  The answer is like a painting - it has many origins, layers and effects. I see something beautiful or interesting I want to show it to the world. I enjoy the pleasure of deciding how this might be accomplished. A not so secret answer follows - my absolute enjoyment in the act of painting. If then I think I have succeeded in capturing my vision it is offered to you.

I  believe painters, and their students, are largely driven by these ambitions. Luckily It is a passion that, although it varies in intensity, never goes away.
